After some difficulties keeping the old website (this one) up to date, the club has a new website at
www.madocyachtclub.org.uk and we suggest you go there now.
At the moment, we're busy moving things from the old one to the new one and adding sections and forums to it. When its's finished, it will allow members to post stories, join in forums and will generally be more useful than the old one.
You will need to create a new acount for yourself unfortunately, as transferring user accounts from the old to the new is beyond me.

Dear Member, As new Commodore I have been asked to write a few lines for the webpage and, not being of an inventive nature, I had a quick look at what my predecessors had written. Two years ago Terry Birch looked back to the early days of the Club, when facilities were basic and jobs were done entirely by volunteers. What a change we have seen! Now we have a comfortable bar, an excellent restaurant and a pontoon mooring scheme, but also a mass of legislation to cope with - from VAT to Health and Safety - which means the management of the Club has to be on a much more professional basis. What has not changed is that Madoc Yacht Club is the most friendly club to be found anywhere, as any visitor will tell you. This is because the Club is not its buildings or facilities, but its members, and may fellowship always come before a "ten year business plan." So use the Club and its facilities but, above all, join our social and sailing events, so that we continue to thrive. If you have any ideas or criticismss, the Committee and myself are always at your service. May I wish you calm seas, fair winds and sunny skies through the season. Best wishes Bob Parkes (commodore) |
